KAMBO PREPARATION

Preparing for Your Kambo Ceremony

The journey with Kambo begins the moment you set your intention. This sacred medicine invites deep healing and transformation, cleansing the mind, body, and spirit. As you commit to this path, old patterns, emotions, and energies may surface unexpectedly. Embrace these shifts as part of the cleansing process, allowing yourself to release what no longer serves you. Journaling your reflections can help you connect more deeply with your healing journey.

Contraindications: Is Kambo Right for You?

Other Considerations:

  • Sleeping or dieting supplements: Inform your practitioner if you are taking any.

  • Crohn’s Disease or IBS: Use caution, as Kambo may exacerbate symptoms.

  • Active drug or alcohol addiction: Ensure sobriety before participating.

  • Fasting: Avoid fasting within 7 days before or after Kambo.

  • Electrolyte Depletion: Avoid enemas, colonics, intensive sweating, or liver flushes within 3 days before and after Kambo.

  • Menstruation: Kambo can increase bleeding, cramping, and lightheadedness.

  • Recreational Substances: Refrain from marijuana, alcohol, or other substances 24-48 hours before and after Kambo.

  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Wait 4-6 weeks before receiving Kambo.

  • Botox: Wait at least 7 days after Botox injections, as Kambo may cause it to be expelled from the body.

Guidelines for Your Session

1. Honoring Your Vessel:

  • Avoid colonics, enemas, liver flushes, or water fasting for 3 days before and after Kambo. Juice fasting is acceptable, as it supports the body’s natural balance without depleting vital electrolytes.

2. Fasting in Reverence:

  • 12 hours before your session: Abstain from food. You may sip small amounts of water or herbal tea with honey up to 2 hours prior.

  • Optional: A caffeinated drink 5 hours before your session can ease withdrawal symptoms. A low-fat smoothie is also fine before this time to sustain energy.

3. Mindful Hydration:

  • 1.5 liters of water will be consumed before receiving Kambo. Hydrate mindfully leading up to the session, avoiding overconsumption of liquids.

4. Honoring Stillness:

  • On the day of your ceremony, refrain from taking supplements or medications. You may resume them 5 hours after completing the session once your body has integrated the medicine.

5. Clear Presence:

  • 72 hours before your session: Avoid alcohol and recreational substances to prepare your body and mind as a clear vessel for Kambo.

6. Nourishing the Body:

  • In the days leading up to your ceremony, consume light, wholesome foods from the earth. Avoid heavy fats and processed foods to lighten the load on your liver, as Kambo deeply cleanses this vital organ. Choose foods that align with your healing journey and keep your body light and receptive.

7. Hydration Preparation:

  • Drink plenty of electrolyte-rich water 2-3 days before your session to keep your tissues hydrated. Opt for natural sources like coconut water or mineral drops, avoiding sugary drinks like Gatorade.

8. Comfort and Warmth:

  • Wear comfortable, loose clothing and bring warm layers, as the medicine may leave you feeling cold. Warm socks, a change of clothes, and fresh underwear will support your comfort during the integration process.

9. Setting Intentions:

  • Bring a journal to write down your intentions, which will be discussed during your consultation. This is a time to open your heart to healing and transformation.

10. Honoring the Body’s Flow:

  • If your hair is long, bring a hair tie.

  • Women: It is recommended to wear an open-back sports bra, as Kambo points are often placed along the spinal energy centers.

KAMBO INTEGRATION

Kambo Integration Guide

After your Kambo ceremony, it’s essential to honor the integration process to ensure the healing and transformations continue to unfold. The medicine works deeply on physical, mental, and spiritual levels, and integration allows you to absorb the full benefits of your experience. Here’s a guide to help you navigate the post-Kambo journey with reverence and intention.

Understanding the Integration Process

Kambo often brings intense purging and healing experiences during the ceremony, but the real work continues in the days and weeks following. Integration is about giving yourself space and time to process, reflect, and allow the medicine to continue its work on your body, mind, and spirit. This process supports long-term healing, emotional release, and spiritual growth.

Immediate Post-Ceremony Care

1. Rest and Reflect:

  • After your Kambo session, take the time to rest and recharge. The body is deeply engaged in the healing process, and this is a time to honor your body’s need for recovery.

  • You may feel fatigued, lightheaded, or emotionally raw. Allow yourself the space to process these feelings without judgment.

  • Journaling is an excellent tool for reflecting on your experience. Write down your thoughts, feelings, and any insights that emerged during the ceremony.

2. Hydrate Mindfully:

  • Continue to hydrate with electrolyte-rich water and avoid sugary drinks. Coconut water, herbal teas, and mineral water are great choices. Proper hydration supports your body’s continued cleansing and helps the integration process.

3. Nourish Your Body:

  • Opt for light, easy-to-digest foods for the first 24-48 hours. Soups, smoothies, and vegetables are ideal. Avoid heavy meals or processed foods that may overload your digestive system.

  • Avoid alcohol and recreational substances during the initial 72 hours post-Kambo. Your body is in a delicate state, and these substances can interfere with the healing process.

In the Days Following Your Ceremony

1. Emotional Release:

  • Kambo often stirs up emotions that may surface after the ceremony. Be prepared to feel vulnerable, emotional, or even challenged.

  • Emotions like anger, sadness, or joy may arise unexpectedly. Allow these emotions to move through you without attachment or resistance. Express yourself freely through journaling, talking to a trusted friend, or creative outlets like art or music.

2. Restorative Practices:

  • Sleep is essential to your body’s recovery and the integration of Kambo’s healing effects. Try to ensure you are getting plenty of rest during the days after your ceremony.

  • Gentle movement like yoga, stretching, or light walking can support your body in processing the medicine and releasing any residual energy. However, avoid intense physical exertion for a few days after your ceremony.

3. Reflection and Clarity:

  • It’s common for insights and visions to unfold over the next few days as the medicine integrates into your system. Reflect on what Kambo has revealed to you.

  • If you experienced difficult or intense emotions, sit with them and create space for healing. Consider using practices like meditation, breathwork, or grounding exercises to further support the integration process.

Long-Term Integration Tips

1. Connect with Your Intention:

  • Reflect back on your intention from the ceremony. Kambo may have brought clarity or highlighted areas in your life where healing is needed. Continue to revisit your intention and stay committed to the changes you wish to see in your life.

  • Affirmations or prayers can be a powerful way to anchor in your intention and create a sense of spiritual alignment.

2. Continued Self-Care:

  • Stay grounded by maintaining your self-care routine. This includes eating wholesome, nourishing foods, getting adequate rest, and honoring your body’s needs.

  • Engage in practices that bring you peace and balance—whether that’s nature walks, creative expression, breathwork, or time spent with loved ones.

3. Avoid Toxic Environments:

  • For the first 1-2 weeks after your ceremony, consider limiting exposure to negative or toxic environments. Protect your energy and allow space for healing.

  • Surround yourself with supportive people who understand your journey, or take time for solitude if you need it.

4. Seek Support if Needed:

  • Sometimes Kambo can bring up deep-seated emotional issues or memories that require additional support. If you feel overwhelmed or unsure of your experience, consider speaking with us, a healer or therapist who specializes in trauma, integration, or plant medicine.

  • Group integration circles or online support communities can also offer valuable connection and shared healing insights.

5. Stay Open to Ongoing Healing:

  • Healing is a continuous process, and Kambo’s effects may unfold over weeks, months, or even years. Stay open to receiving the medicine’s wisdom and trust that your journey is unfolding in divine timing.

Physical Integration Practices

1. Restorative Diet:

  • Maintain a clean, whole-foods diet for the weeks following your ceremony. Fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins will support your body’s continued detoxification.

  • Incorporate nutrient-dense superfoods to replenish your energy and support overall well-being.

2. Hydration Ritual:

  • Electrolyte-rich hydration remains essential during this period. Coconut water, herbal teas, and mineral water will help maintain balance and aid the detox process.

3. Detox Support:

  • Consider gentle detox practices like dry brushing, Epsom salt baths, or herbal teas to further support your body in releasing toxins.

  • Sauna sessions (when appropriate) can help release residual energy and toxins. Ensure you’re hydrated and avoid overdoing it.
